Nearly 200 visitors traveled from near and far to catch a glimpse of the historic Ursuline Academy campus on November 8th and 22nd, 2025.

Guests gathered in the serene and beautiful chapel, where Tony Libri delivered an engaging introductory presentation detailing the preservation journey—sharing the story of the buildings’ dismal state when he first purchased the property, and the significance of his donation of the Chapel, Academy, and Music Conservatory to Preservation, Inc.

Following the chapel presentation, visitors were invited to peek into the former convent area of the school, gaining rare access to a part of the campus not typically open to the public. The first leg of the tour concluded in the bright, sun-filled Brides Room and the richly appointed, masculine Groom’s Room—two restored spaces that left guests truly inspired by the campus’s potential.

The next stop on the tour was the Academy building—where many alumnae in the group shared stories, laughter, and even a few tears. Walking through the three-story structure, visitors could clearly see that significant repairs are still needed, yet the sense of possibility was undeniable. As conversations filled the hallways, you could almost see the twinkle of ideas forming about how this beloved building might once again serve the community.  Ideas included an arts and artesian center on the third floor in the dearly loved Art Room, a Pilates studio, a coffee shop, and a reading room in the library, as well as private offices!

The final stop was the awe-inspiring Music Conservatory—once home to music students from near and far. With its remarkable stage and one-of-a-kind acoustics, the space reminded visitors of the artistic energy that once filled its halls. The group gathered here to enjoy light refreshments and linger in conversation. Old friends reconnected, new friendships were formed, and the Conservatory once again echoed with the warmth of community.

The generosity shown during Sneak Peek was truly humbling—but our work is far from finished. Preserving these historic buildings is an act of stewardship, a living expression of the Ursuline motto Serviam—“I will serve.” Every contribution, large or small, strengthens our mission to protect this landmark, honor the legacy of the Ursuline Sisters, and return the campus to active use for future generations. We invite you to visit our website, learn more about our preservation efforts, and click the Donate Now tab to support this important work. Your gift today helps safeguard Ursuline’s heritage and keeps the spirit of service, community, and renewal alive.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Ursuline Academy Alumni Foundation the roof of the Chapel or Ursuline’s “Abbey” is being replaced.

Acosta-Angeli Roofing of Springfield is hard at work and we commend their dedication to complete the project during this inclement weather!
